Christmas Eve Service

Christmas Eve Service

What a beautiful service to be reminded of the reason we celebrate at Christmas.

Before the service(s) we were welcomed with the beautiful sound of violins playing Christmas music by our own Grace Anne & Lucca Delcompare.  Our praise team led us in the Traditional Christmas carols as our stage was hosting a live nativity with Mary & Joseph (Rachel Coleman & Tim Irving), the Angel (Linda Knight), the Shepherd (Eric Garwood), and the Wiseman (Cam Stokka).  We read the traditional Christmas story from Luke’s gospel in between carols.  The ActingUP drama ministry reminded us that focusing on Jesus is what truly matters.  Pastor Steven sang “It’s Still the Greatest Story Ever Told” and Pastor Curt inspired us with Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah, Our Wonderful Counselor!

Special thanks to our many volunteers who set everything up & cleaned up.  Also to our First Impressions Team & Evangelism Team who made all our guests (regulars & 1st time) feel special.  And to you for attending with us and bringing family & friends.  We had over 650 in attendance.

Taste of Christmas

Taste of Christmas

It was another great event with the Taste of Christmas on Capri.  The dynamic voices of Art Bush, Jeff Bush, & Tracy Tooley along with Steven Foster at the piano was a such a great way to kick-off the night.  Our local restuarants didn’t disappoint on the appetizers with shrimp, fried grouper, pizza, bbq, & clam chowder.  There was so much food to taste as our choir & church members brought in some of their finger-food favorites.

Attendees were all encouraged to take business cards that were provided  and give to these local businesses that say Thank You for your participation in our Taste of Christmas.  Be sure and let them know how much you appreciate them partnering with us.  The participating restaurants on Capri were Pelican Bend, Island Gypsy, & Capri Fish House and then  Sammi’s Pizza, & Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market both on Marco Island.

We are looking forward to and already making plans for the Taste of Christmas 2019!
Philip’s Ministry Christmas Party

Philip’s Ministry Christmas Party

It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the Philip’s Ministry once again had their annual Christmas Party hosted by Pastor Curt & Dreama. The night started off with a competition for the ladies with the best ‘festive jewelry/accessories’ and was it ever tough for our judges.  All the tables were decorated by different individuals from the congregation.  Charlotte Paul, director of the Philip’s Ministry welcomed everyone and reminded all that while the holidays are tough we have each other to lean on.  Audrey Delcompare sang beautifully the songs White Christmas & Silver Bells for the ladies.  The singing continued as Pastor Steven played dinner music on the piano & singing several Christmas carols including favorites like Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Deck the Halls, & Away In a Manger.  There was so much food as the ladies each brought different appetizers and finger foods…these ladies know how to cook!  Helen Wilson read several nice notes about Pastor Curt and Dreama and just how much the widows ministry loves our Pastor and his wife with their involvement with this special group of ladies.  We also celebrated 3 birthdays last night…Happy Birthday to Greta Mullins, Chris Rossenbach, & Lorna Harris.   It was such a nice way to indeed “Have yourself a very merry Christmas with faithful friends who are dear to us!”

The Barrington Terrace Nursing Home Ministry

The Barrington Terrace Nursing Home Ministry

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month from October through May at The Nursing Home located at 5175 Tamiami Trail E. Usually our activities start at 9:20 AM, in the main lobby and then we visit two separate units. We spent about 40 minutes with the general population and 30 minutes in the Alzheimer’s unit. Our group of volunteers enjoy to sing, socialize and love the nursery home residents. We bring every Thursday hymns and old familiar fun tunes that we combine with scripture readings, sometimes we have instrumentalists and even a good dance time. We are here to bring joy, sweet moments and the most important to share the love of our Savior Jesus with the residents. If you are interested in being part of this ministry, we would love to have you with us! For more information please contact Nicole Collinsgrove at 609 – 517 – 5341

Grief Support & Renewal

Grief Support & Renewal

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit

Psalm 34:18

The Grief Support and Renewal Group was founded on the passion and desire to come alongside those who are hurting and grieving and to offer support, comfort and love through the help of the Lord Jesus Christ. This group is designed to be a safe haven for comfortable conversation in a casual atmosphere that allows all participants to interact, share or just sit quietly under the healing hand of the Lord and the comfort of each other. There are all types of losses that can interrupt our lives and each loss is significant to the one grieving. Whether is a death, a broken relationship, loss of pet, loss of health or loss of home/assets. If you have suffered a loss of any kind, please come and join us and find fellowship and comfort as you begin the healing process. We meet every Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Church’s Fellowship Hall. You are not alone, we are here for you.
