Who Does God Use to Proclaim Jesus?

Who Does God Use to Proclaim Jesus?

#MotivationMondayatCapri

Who does God use to proclaim Jesus? Well, let’s take a look at what the Bible says.

When Mary went to visit her relative Elizabeth, at the sound of Mary’s voice, Elizabeth’s baby lept for joy in her womb because the Lord was present! Angels came from heaven to declare Jesus’ arrival! Shepherds left their flocks to spread the good news. Magi from the East traveled hundreds of miles to worship and acknowledge Him! Simeon, a just and devout older man, proclaimed Him in the temple. Anna, an 84 year old widow, dedicated to prayer and fasting, did the same.

Let’s see now, that’s the young to the very, very young, heavenly host, uneducated, poor working class men, educated, wise, wealthy foreigners, and elderly men and women. That pretty much covers everybody and that’s only looking at two chapters! So I guess that means He can use you! This Christmas season don’t hesitate when an opportunity arises to spread the truth of whom Jesus is and why He came. God wants to use you at any time, at any age, to be His messenger, you only need to be ready and let Him!
Who? Me!
Demolition Day

Demolition Day

In case you haven’t heard our kitchen is getting a ‘facelift’ with new cabinets and counters. They are also upgrading to a much bigger sink that the big pots and pans will fit into and a dishwasher to help quick wash all those utensils.
Bob Hobgood and his property team have been busy with quite a few projects this summer already including…exterior painting of the building, tearing out the old ceiling tiles in the offices and painting along with new crown molding, the woman’s bathroom in the fellowship hall got some new additions, and the new lighting in the fellowship hall. If you’re a handy man/woman and you want to help with this ministry be sure and talk with Bob. He’s got a lot of projects going on and ones to come and he would love to let you use your skills.

Lunch Is Served

Lunch Is Served

Another great church dinner yesterday with the theme of ‘Back to School’.
Cathy McFarland (aka Lunch Lady In Chief) and her kitchen crew outdid themselves once again. They took us back to the ‘school cafeteria’ with a menu of Sloppy Joes and Tater Tots. Many remarked with compliments of the fun and how good the sloppy joes were. Speaking of fun…how about those special lunch ladies who served us…wow
Yesterday’s lunch was a reminder for us that our kids here at Capri and in Collier County are back to school for learning. Let’s remember to pray for them and be an encouragement to them. We’ve also been made aware that for a lot of kids the school meal may be their only meal and that sometimes they don’t have enough on their meal ticket to eat. We want to encourage you to look into this problem yourself and see how you can make a difference. Ask the Lord how you can help.
Finally, on the tables you saw the opportunities we have here at Capri for continued learning of Gods Word. The Apostle Paul told a young evangelist by the name Timothy these words ‘study to show yourself approved by God, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of truth’ ~ 2 Timothy 2:15. Be sure and take advantage of being faithful in the Sunday School program, small groups, and the weekly assembly for some great times of teaching and learning!https://caprichristianchurch.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/img_2091.mov

Graduation Sunday

This past Sunday Youth Pastor Timothy Gardiner recognized four of students who were graduating…Brock Wilson, Grace Anne Delcompare, Jacob Schneller, & Alicia Tower.  During both of the worship hours Tim acknowledged all the graduates and shared some personal stories about them and their plans.  Also, during the all-church dinner, there were tables set up for the graduates with a gift box and card for each student.  We had the opportunity to congratulate each of the four students.
The Memorial Scholarship Committee also made their presentation to two of the students who had applied for the scholarship.  The recipients were Jacob Schneller & Alicia Tower.  Please join the Committee in congratulating  these exceptional  students who will begin another chapter of their life attending college.

All-Church Dinner

The lovely Lilies of the Field… graced the tables at last Sunday’s dinner. Not only in containers but also in frames with God’s word. Gerri Ditton, after many years of faithful direction, passed the spatula to Cathy McFarland who in return passed Gerri a dozen roses.

Food was flowing : Pastor Curt made his famous meatballs, there was fried chicken, delicious sliced ham, salads and veggies. Kris Kugler got her ” Snow White” hands into Blue Smurf gloves and placed hot casseroles on colorful mats.  Kathy Ragland brought out dishes while Betsy Horton made sure each one had a serving spoon. Cheryl Gepford and Jane ; the drink ladies set up the pitchers for the tables, something new they’re trying so people can remain seated. And of course the dessert table was decadent. Clean up was slick, everyone working off their meal by folding and stacking the tables and chairs While others cleared away the empty dishes…washed and dried. I think Dory Way must have dried at least 54 pictures while smiling and Laura Lee was back and forth like the Flash… you thought you were watching a tennis match.  The finale…Jim McFarland and the crew hauling the large green trash bags to the bin.
It takes a lot of work and happy people to put on a successful Sunday dinner, but here at Capri we are blessed because we… love God… love others… serve in love… until next time Family… Bon Appetite!
